Marvel reportedly wants Charlie Hunnam to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. TheSons of Anarchystar has been linked to different Marvel projects over the years but has yet to ink a deal with the studio. Marvel may have great plans for Charlie Hunnam, but would he play a superhero in these Blockbuster movies?
Moving on from his TV show run is not easy, especially when he had been playing that character for several years. For Hunnam, saying goodbye to Jax Teller was difficult. In fact, the way he describes the experience makes it sound as though he went through some sort of grieving process.

Hunnam has been honest about his life post-Sons of Anarchy, and he's said that getting Jax out of his head didn't happen overnight. He was overwhelmingly nostalgic for his time on Sons of Anarchy, and he admitted that he would make up excuses to visit the set and relive his days on the show. "I knew the security guards and for a couple of days said, 'Oh, I forgot something'," Hunnam told Glamour. "So they'd let me onto the set, and I'd just walk around at night because I wanted to be in that environment and go through a personal process of saying goodbye." After spending so long as Jax, moving on to the next role and jumping into the unknown was a challenge for Hunnam, and it's clear that he still remembers Sons of Anarchy fondly.

Does Charlie Hunnam even want to be a Marvel superhero?
While promoting King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Hunnam discussed playing a superhero on the big screens. According to Cinema Blend, there were rumors that the Sons of Anarchy star was going to play Green Arrow in the DCEU, something Hunnam immediately shut down.
“I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the Batman films… It’s not part of my vision for my career or what I aspire to,” Hunnam explained.
Hunnam’s interview happened in 2017, so there is a chance that things could have changed on the superhero front. Regardless, fans clearly would love to see Hunnam take on a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hunnam’s latest film, Waldo, is currently in post-production. The actor is also working on a new televisions series titled Shantaram, which was recently delayed after the showrunner dropped out.
Marvel has not commented on the rumors that they would like to add Charlie Hunnam to the MCU.
